Academic use is given priority over non-academic use of
computers. Persons using computers for non- academic
activities may be asked to move or give up their computer if
it is needed for academic use by another user. |
Computers are made available on a first-come,
first-served basis. In the case of computers with
specialized hardware and software, users not taking
advantage of these items may be asked to move to a different
computer if they are needed by another user. |
Users should observe lab opening and closing times.
Consultants are not permitted to allow users to stay in the
lab past the posted hours. Computing activity that is not
completed by closing time may be forcibly terminated in
order to close the facility. |
Any computer left unattended for more than 15 minutes
will be considered available for other users, regardless of
any notes left by the user. Users may not save computers for
others or leave their accounts unattended. |
Users should not reboot or turn off lab computers
without permission from a lab consultant. Users should not
deliberately run programs or code that will crash a
computer. |
Lab equipment and peripherals may not be moved. Users
who experience problems with equipment or peripherals,
including printers, should ask for help from the consultant.
Please do not attempt to fix problems yourself. |
Systems Labs is not responsible for personal items left
unattended. |
Lost items are held at least two weeks. If your name and
contact information are attached to the item, a note will be
announced on the announcement board (next to the lab's
entrance). |
Be considerate of others by keeping noise and other
disruptions to a minimum. Headphones are required when using
sound. Disruptive persons will be asked to leave. |
The use of food, drink, and tobacco products is not
allowed. |
Multiple copies of printout are not allowed. |
No pets are allowed inside the lab. |
