The purpose of this Web site is to help you become familiar with the CIT's academic computer labs, the rules and regulations pertaining to their use, and how to perform specific tasks using our computer systems.
The Lab's Section of the CIT Faculty has 17 computer laboratories (10 in Medical Buildings & 7 in Engineering Buildings), containing over 550 Pentium workstations, several Laser printers, and other resources shared through a local area network. These laboratories are equipped with data shows, multimedia facilities, and overhead projectors. All the laboratories are open for teaching, research and development uses. The faculty members have on- and off-campus access to the worldwide Internet through the university’s local area network and the remote access system. Students have unlimited on-campus access to the Internet at no charges. The faculty offices are equipped with state-of-the-art PCs with multimedia and Laser printers.
As the demand on information technology is rapidly increasing as indicated by the boosted annual intake to the school in general and to the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems in particular, the Department is working on extending the computing facilities to include additional open access laboratories for computer science majors. The intended laboratories will be equipped with state-of-the-art computing facilities that will enable excellent teaching opportunities and quality research projects.
